LizaAlert — Search & Rescue Platform
The web system is designed for volunteer search-and-rescue organizations, specifically for finding missing people in forests, cities and the many hard-to-reach areas of the CIS region. LizaAlert operates across 53 regions with approximately 4,000 participants. Given the scale and scope of the organization's operations, the proposed system covers a broad range of functionality to support their work.

Problem
Their existing digital tools were fragmented, outdated, and manually operated. Information was scattered across chats, spreadsheets, and offline workflows — making it difficult to scale, coordinate, or retain context over time.
Goal
Design a centralized digital system to:
- Store and archive all operational data
- Integrate essential volunteer tools in one place
- Save time by automating repetitive tasks for coordinators and volunteers
What I Did
As a UX Designer, I:
- Analyzed data and documentation related to the project
- Conducted workshops with the design team and users to gather insights and requirements
- Conducted user testing to validate design decisions
- Created diagrams and various flowcharts to visualize user journeys and interactions
During the project, I actively contributed to the development of low-fidelity mockups, prototyping, and wireframing to make sure the design vision was achieved successfully.

Leading the Design Team
Beyond the design work itself, as the Lead Designer I:
- Led a team of three designers
- Established effective communication and collaboration channels for the team
- Set the goals and priorities for our design work
- Organized tasks and assigned resources within the team
- Joined concept discussions, gave feedback on the work, and resolved any problems or mistakes that came up
- Conducted onboarding for new designers
Social Aspect
For me this project was particularly important as it served a crucial social mission — helping to locate missing persons across the CIS region.
Through design, I addressed LizaAlert's challenges and provided innovative solutions. Working on this project allowed me to combine my passion for design with a greater purpose, making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Results
- MVP launched in pilot region within 3 months
- Coordinators reduced case prep time by ~40%
- Volunteer data is now centralized and searchable across past cases
- Mobile prototype tested by 15 volunteers (positive feedback on clarity & autonomy)
