# What I'm About

Semyon Kuznetsov — Senior Product Designer. Who I am, where I'm from, what I do
now and what I'm looking for.

## Where I'm from

I was born in Russia, grew up in a small town (Leninogorsk, Tatarstan), and
spent a lot of time drawing, assembling computers, and watching my dad work as a
craftsman. My parents told me I was "good with my hands" and should probably do
something practical. So I started with painting and ended up designing systems.
Somehow feels pretty connected.

## What I Used to Do

My first jobs were all about speed and people: I worked in retail, ran design
gigs on freelance marketplaces, laid out newspapers for a local publishing
house. I've also worked in science — wrote research papers, spoke at
conferences, ran usability tests in a lab. I like jumping into things I know
nothing about and figuring them out as I go.

## What I Do Now

Now I'm a Senior Product Designer at EPAM Systems, and for the last three years
almost entirely inside one client: a top-5 global pharma. Three platforms in
that time — a robotics and automation catalog, a delivery tracker for digital
twin and computer vision use cases, and a design system spanning 17 supply chain
and manufacturing tools.

The common thread is regulated manufacturing operations: data-heavy systems that
live for years, owned by many teams at once, used by people whose day is already
full. Before that — developer tooling, an open-source chemical editor used in
drug R&D, and a design system for a major US tech company.

## Where I'm At Now

Currently based in Belgrade, Serbia. I'm either designing, hiking, cooking pasta
or nerding out over the tiniest UX details that nobody else seems to care about.

## What I'm Looking For

Meaningful work, diverse teams, products with real impact. Also curious about
the intersection of design and AI — I think the way we build interfaces is about
to change for good.
